Pinch, punch, first of the month (and no returns of any kind)!

It's May!!! Spring is out in all her glory, the days are getting longer every day. The weather should be getting warmer but, beware, there's an old English saying 'Ne'er cast a clout 'til May be out'. Clout is an old English word for coat and the saying means 'Don't leave you coat at home until the end of May'. It can still be chilly. I love May, it's a wonderful month.

Anyway, here's the first maths challenge of May. How many triangles can you see in this big one. I'll give you a hint.  It's more than 8 but less than 20. Answers on Monday,

There are 18 triangles. How many did you find?
