Balancing Scales

You don't see old fashioned weighing scales like this very often, but to balance them means to have exactly the same mass on each side.
These scales are balanced because they are level which means that the contents of the bowls might not look the same but they weigh the same.
So here's today's maths problem
In each picture the scales on each side a balances so the weight of two cubes is equivalent to 16kg.

The sphere weighs 7kg

  2. If the cubes are 16kg then 1 cube will be 8kg
    So the mass of the sphere will be 7kg
