Ok, here's another picture of our school. This time from 1907. The school was used for adults in the evenings and these women are learning millinery (hat-making). The question is...where are they in the school?
What has stayed the same and what's different?
Wow that is amazing! I am trying to guess what room that is, but it might be in the old KS2 building that you told us about because 1907 is before it got bombed. If it is in the building we are in now though, it looks like the staff room.
ReplyDeleteI think they're in the art room. The floor looks the same but the tables and the chairs look very different. Jayden
ReplyDeleteThis picture is so interesting!
ReplyDeleteThe lights look really different from ours; are they gas lamps?
I wondered whether it might be one of the halls - either the dining hall or the assembly hall as the floor looks familiar...
From Mrs Binnie
Good guesses everyone and well done for remembering about the old building Izzy. I like your thinking Jayden. Mrs Binnie is on the right track though - it's the top hall. The archway is still there and leads to the Year 3 and Year 4 classroom. The windows to the right of the picture look into what is now the library. The wall with the pictures on it is now hidden by those long white cupboards that have PE equipment and folding chairs that people aren't allowed to lean against in assembly!
ReplyDeleteCan you see it now?
